Tumeric Sea Buckthorn Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 tablespoon sea buckthorn juice or sea buckthorn powder (or berries if available)

  • 1-inch piece (0.2 oz) of fresh tumeric root, peeled and chopped

  • 1 ripe banana (adds creaminess and sweetness)

  • 1/2 cup coconut water or almond milk (for a hydrating base)

  • 1/2 cup spinach (optional, for an added boost of greens)

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (for added fiber and omega-3)

  • A squeeze of lemon or lime juice (for a citrusy zing)

  • Ice cubes (optional, for a chilled smoothie)

Instructions:

  1. Prep Ingredients: Peel and chop fresh tumeric root. If using sea buckthorn powder, measure a tablespoon. Prepare the pomegranate seeds and banana.

  2. Blend: Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender: pomegranate seeds, sea buckthorn juice/powder, fresh tumeric root, banana, coconut water or almond milk, spinach, chia/flax seeds, and lemon/lime juice.

  3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high until you achieve a smooth consistency. Add ice cubes for a colder, thicker smoothie if desired.
